I rode freight trains I was allowed to be on, traveling through this country and others.i rode with my daddy when I was a little girl. he was a locomotive engineer for the Rock Island Line and others I think.i love to wave at the train engineers when they go bye, i get a little teary actually, cause I think of my Dad and miss him. he's in Oklahoma and I don't see him too often. I think about how far they've traveled and where their families are in the world, waiting for their return.
You weren't even born when the Rock Island closed their doors--but you were 4 days away from it when we climbed aboard the last Rock Island switch engine in Peach Yard, Ft. Worth, TX.Tim was 2, I was 9 1/2 months pregnant, and I was climbing on a switch engine... LMAO
When did you start ridin' freight trains, my dear? Is that another one of your adventures?
